The Mt. Vernon Mt’neers handily defeated the Buffalo Bison in the district quarterfinals game at Mt’neer Stadium on Friday, Nov. 1. The Mt’neers dominated the game throughout its entirety, scoring nine touchdowns before the Bison even got on the board.

The Mt. Vernon girls’ golf team wrapped up another successful season this last week. The team is led by senior duo, Madi Phillips and Courtnee Bishop. The Lady Mt’neers placed in every golf tournament they played in this year, and state was no different.

In an upset effort, the Monett Cubs football squad downed the Mt. Vernon Mt’neers at Burl Fowler Stadium on Friday, Oct. 25, the final game of the regular season. The game, in which both teams played with a lot of grit and determination, saw the score tied twice in the fourth quarter.
