The Mt. Vernon Mt’neers won their second victory of the season as they defeated the Monett Cubs in a weather-delayed game that started on Thursday, Sept. 1, and concluded on Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Burl Fowler Stadium in Monett.

Despite rumors of Miller volleyball being diminished, they dominated at the Verona Invitational Tournament for a seventh straight year as they went 6-0 without losing a single set.

Zack Klein was one of the all-time greats during his stint as a Mt’neer basketballer from 2006-2010. Now, he will find his home about 25 minutes east in the halls of Clever High School as the new head coach for the Bluejays.

Miller basketball was placed in great hands the last few years when Sean Price came to lead the Cardinals back in 2020. The defense-minded coach led the Cardinals to a 21-8 season in the 2020-2021 season that saw Miller win their first district championship in 10 years.
