Mt. Vernon hosted 21 different schools at a track meet Friday, April 11. Lawrence County Schools Marionville, Miller, Monett, Mt. Vernon, and Verona were in attendance. The following are results for area athletes who placed in the top three for each event.

The Mt. Vernon Lady Mt’neers kicked off the season with a third place finish in the SWMO Softball Spring Tournament hosted by Purdy High School on March 21-22, at the Joplin Athletic Complex in Joplin.

It has been something that the Dawgs have eyed the last three years. After falling in the district title game the last three years, the Dawgs earned the elusive fourth district title in school history and first since 2009 after defeating Mt. Vernon 70-29.
