Workers making net gains now that structure is up
 
417 Athletics’ big build on the south side of Mt. Vernon is inching closer to completion. The sports facility can now boast walls and soon a roof, according to operator Sydni Alexander.
“We are in the close-in phase of construction. All walls should be up in the next few days and then they will start on the roof. Once they get a quarter of the roof on they will start the studs for the interior. The volleyball/basketball equipment will start being installed on Aug. 3,” Alexander said. “We don’t have a set-in-stone open date, it will vary depending on how the equipment install goes, but we’re looking at the end of September.”
