Angus Branch Grille out, Meg’s in

Mt. Vernon restaurant Angus Branch Grille is receiving a major revamp—not only on the menu and the layout, but also the name. Shooting for April 1, owner Megan Golubski will reopen the eatery as Meg’s. Veering from traditional homestyle fare, Golubski said the new draw will be smash burgers, chicken and frozen custard. The burgers will be more like those found at Freddy’s restaurant; the custard more like Andy’s Frozen Custard. The layout will be more like Freddy’s, as well, ordering at a counter and relying less on a wait staff. Golubski anticipates the new lineup will be a hit with increased business from the newly opened 417 Athletics. If the recent uptick in youthful out-of-towners is any indicator, the change should be a slam dunk. (Photo by Ryan Squibb)
