Argument leads to possible domestic assault charges for local Zion Asher physician, Lyman Wostrel

A heated argument over a bonfire lead to the arrest of Zion Asher family physician, Lyman J. Wostrel, 42, of Mt. Vernon, so says a police report from the Mt. Vernon Police Department.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 6:53 p.m. on Friday, May 5, in regards to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, the officers spoke with Lisa Benson, 60, and a witness, Lauren Wostrel, 33, both of Mt. Vernon who stated Benson and Lyman Wostrel got into an argument over going to a bonfire on some property owned by Wostrel, per the report.
Benson stated Wostrel became extremely aggravated and approached her in an aggressive manner yelling at her to leave and shaking his finger in her face. Benson also stated children were present and they became upset over the situation as well.
While on scene, deputies and a Mt. Vernon Police officer tried to calm Wostrel to talk to him about the situation but he became more agitated and they were forced to place him under arrest.
Wostrel was transported to the Lawrence County Jail for booking. He was released 24 hours later. There is no word on official charges at this time.
Both Lyman and Lauren Wostrel are married and are both family physicians at Zion Asher Family Physicians of Mt. Vernon.
