Arthur Allen Gray

Arthur Allen Gray, 85, of Aurora, passed away Feb. 26, 2020, in Estes Park, Colo. Gray was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Prinsburg, Minn. to Allen and Dricka Johanna (Wubbles) Gray.
He was a 1953 graduate of Littleton High School in Littleton, Colo. and was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1956-1958 in the 1st Infantry Division and later in the National Guard. He was a carpenter/repairman for over 48 years. He previously worked at the Citizens Finance Company and Binion’s Furniture both in Aurora. He was a member of the Aurora Lions Club for over 58 years with perfect attendance and was an active member of the Southwest Model A Club in Springfield. He was a Gideon and past president of the Aurora Rural Fire Association and a member of the Aurora Church of Christ. In 1957, he married Dottie Lou Laney in Aurora and she preceded him in death in 1993. In 2001, he married Yvonne Howell in Springfield and she preceded him in death Jan. 9, 2020.
Gray is survived by: his son, Corey (Anne) Gray and of Aurora; brother, Charles (Zona) Gray of Portland, Ore.; sister, Marlys (Kurt) Barbee of McConnelsville, Ohio; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; wives, Dottie and Yvonne; sons, Derrick and Byron Gray; and sister, Deloris Foncannon.
A celebration of life under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2020, at the Aurora Church of Christ. A private family burial will be held at a late date at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora. Flowers are not necessary, and no charities are designated.
