Aurora is starting to slide into best start in recent memory territory. The Houn’ Dawgs fought off a pesky Monett squad 64-62 and rallied from behind to defeat an up and coming Purdy Eagles team 57-44. This all coming on the heels of a Blue and Gold run where the Dawgs rebounded from a loss to Bolivar by defeating three really good teams in Willow Springs, Spokane, and Stockton all by double figures. The recent surge where Aurora has won 8 of their last 10 games has them ranked in the MBCA polls for the first time since I have covered the team. They sit at 10th in Class four in this weeks rankings.
They currently sit at 9-3 heading into the Crane tournament this week where they are the 3 seed. They tipped off Tuesday against clever and will be back in action Thursday and Saturday.
As for the girls, They won both of their games last week with a 38-32 win over Hillcrest Monday and 37-23 win against Southwest Tuesday. They were also slated to play Hollister Thursday, but that game was cancelled due to weather.
