Baby Ruth Bars

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Baby Ruth Bars by Sue Case

1 cup peanut butter
1 cup white corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
6 cups corn flakes, crushed
1 cup chocolate chips
3/4 cup peanuts

Butter a 9x13-inch baking pan. Heat the sugars, syrup, and peanut butter in a heavy saucepan. Mix until smooth.

In a separate mixing bowl, combine the cornflakes, chocolate chips, and peanuts. When peanut butter mixture is smooth, pour over the cornflake mixture and mix well. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Serves approximately 18, depending on how big you cut the bars.
