Barbara Boyd LeCompte
Barbara Boyd LeCompte, 89, of Cassville, passed away Jan. 9, 2019, at the Cassville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Nov. 20, 1929, at her grandparent’s home in Marionville to E.W. “Ernie” Boyd and Maggie Boyd. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1947.
In 1948, at the Aurora Methodist Church, she married Bill LeCompte. They were married for 62 years until his passing in 2011.She was an active member of the Cassville United Methodist Church, singing in the choir for many years, teaching Sunday school and was the leader of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship. She was a Cub Scout den mother, a member of the Silver Leaf benefit club and the garden club, serving as president of both organizations. She was an avid bridge card player and played weekly until her health declined.
She is survived by: children, James (Gayle) LeCompte II, Richard LeBoyd (Nancy) LeCompte and Michael (Jill) LeCompte; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sister, Marylyn Hilton. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Cassville. Services were held Jan. 12, 2019, at United Methodist Church in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.  Burial was at Washburn Prairie Cemetery in Washburn.
