Betty Jean Gingell

Betty Jean Gingell, 84 of Nixa formerly of Branson, passed away May 13, 2020 in Nixa. She was born Dec. 18, 1935 in Topeka, Kan. She was the daughter of Corbett and Cora (Simpson) Crumpley. She married Maurice Gingell Sr. in 1959 in Topeka, Kan. They shared 38 years together before his passing in 1998.
She worked in the motel business in Branson for 20 years. She was very active with her husband in his endeavors with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Branson. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, a member of the National Rifle Association and she was very active in the Marine Corps Association.
She is survived by: children, Maurie (Rhonda) Gingell II of Nixa, Rhonda (Scott) Boatwright of Aurora, Richard  (Julie) Gingell of Branson and step-daughter, Maurine Gragg of Kan. City, Kan.; siblings, Robert Crumpley of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Peggy Crumpley of Rosedale, Kan. and Judy Davis of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
 Services were held May 16, 2020 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Burial followed at the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery in Branson. Services were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Directors in Branson.Memorials may be made to Taney County Animal Control, 255 Critter Trail, Hollister, MO 65672.
