Bobby Lee Samuels

Bobby Lee Samuels, age 92, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, went to be with his Lord at 7:17 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021, at his home.  He was born August 9, 1928, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, as the son of Armel and Clara (Wooley) Samuels.

Bobby grew up in Mt. Vernon, worked at the Carnation Can Company/Silgan for 47 years retiring in 1993.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict from May 1951 through September 1952.  He was a member of the Ozark Prairie “Brick” Church.

Bobby is survived by his wife, of 68 years, Margaret; two daughters, Jane Ann Hall of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, and Joyce Samuel and her husband, Art, of Ozark, Missouri; one son, Allen Samuels of Aurora, Colorado; five grandchildren, Nathan McElhaney of Forsyth, Missouri, Angela Penney of Highpoint, North Carolina,  Kimberly Pierce of Kansas City, Missouri, Kristopher Pierce of Springfield, Missouri, and Ashley (Samuels) Hoerner of Houston, Texas; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Clark of Tucson, Arizona; one brother-in-law, David Comstock and his wife, Judy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Armel and Clara, one brother, James Samuels, and three sisters, Mildred Daugherty, Sharon Walker and Dorothy Patrick.

Bobby was a Christian whose belief in Faith, Family and Country was his way of life. He was a wonderful father, husband, and a friend to everyone.   

A graveside service under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at the Ozark Prairie Cemetery.  Viewing for family and friends will be held from 10:00-5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, in the funeral home chapel.

Due to Covid 19, the family has requested for those attending the services to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Bobby, may be made payable to the Ozark Prairie “Brick” Church in care of the funeral home.
