Carlos Leroy Cook

Carlos Leroy Cook, 80, of Mt. Vernon passed away Dec. 24, 2020, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was born Nov. 6, 1940, in Riverside, Calif., the son of the late Efton and Alma (Snodgrass) Cook.
Cook was a 1959 graduate of Walnut Grove High School. He was the owner of T&C Stainless in Mt. Vernon and attended the Sac River Cowboy Church.
On March 19, 1960, he married Sandy Bloomer, in Harrison, Ark.
Cook is survived by his wife of 60 years; daughter, Tammie (Adam) Gassaway of Chesterfield; sons, Todd (Shelli) Cook of Ash Grove and Terry (Jennifer) Cook of Mt. Vernon; sister, Sylvia (Mark) Terbrock of Springfield; brother, Ricky (Jennifer) Cook of Springfield; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery. Memorials may be made payable to the Shriners, in care of the funeral home.
