Carol Sue Easter Skarp

Carol Sue (Johnson) Easter Skarp, 80, of Monett, passed away Oct. 31, 2019, while at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield.
Skarp was born Feb. 6, 1939 in Salina, Kan., to the late Carl Aaron Johnson and Irene Agnes (Daily) Johnson. Growing up, she graduated from Salina High School. She was baptized in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salina and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Salina on March 29, 1953. For many years, she worked in sales for the Aide Association for Lutherans. After moving to Monett, she became a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monett. She was married to Martin Leroy Easter and together they raised one son. He preceded her in death in 2001. She later married Thomas Oscar Skarp; he survives.
Skarp is survived by: son, Kent Easter, of Monett; three granddaughters; brother, Dale Aaron  (Phyllis) Johnson of Baton Rouge, La.  
Memorial services were held Nov. 5, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Monett. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Braille Workers in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
