CAROLYN EDITH GUILTER

Carolyn Edith Guiltner, 86, of Battlefield passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025. She was born in Cedar County on March 20, 1938; the fourth of nine children of Jesse and Beatrice (Lemaster) Kitsmiller.
She grew up in Arcola and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1957.
Following graduation, she moved to Kansas City where she met her husband, Franklin Eliga Guiltner. They were married on Feb. 28, 1964, and together had four children: Pamela, Carrie, Stephanie and Theron.
Her primary career was working as a seamstress for various companies and her time spent working from home making dresses for a custom boutique clothing store in the 1990s was the most satisfying job of her career.
She is survived by her children: Pamela (Gary) Stafford of Marionville, Carrie (Todd) Hough of Fenton, Stephanie (Joe) Boyd of Marionville and Theron (Melissa) Guiltner of Battlefield; one brother, Joe Kitsmiller of Springfield; one sister, Martha Griffin of Raytown; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Franklin; two sisters: Donnis Durrill and Kathy Terrell; four brothers: Donald Kitsmiller, Leon Kitsmiller, Tad Kitsmiller and Bob Kitsmiller; and three nephews: Greg Kitsmiller, Doug Kitsmiller and Michael Durrill.
Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home in Springfield with burial after at Wade Chapel Cemetery in Republic.
Arrangements were entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd- DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory in Springfield.
