Carroll Wayne Brown

Carroll Wayne Brown, 87, passed away May 7, 2020 at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born Aug. 30, 1932 in Carthage to George Earl and Alta “Ullom” Brown. In his younger years, he lived in Kansas City, then married and returned to Carthage. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956, during the Korean conflict. For over 20 years, he worked in housekeeping at McCune Brooks Hospital. He was married to Dorothy Bright in 1972 in Kansas City; she preceded him in death in 1989.
He is survived by sister, Doris Shaunce of Neosho. He was preceded in death by two brothers and seven sisters.
Services were held May 12, 2020. Burial was at Park Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials may be made to Joplin Association for the Blind, in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.ulmerfh.com. Arrangements were under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
