Cecil R. Royster

Cecil R. Royster, 78, of Carthage, passed away April 6, 2020 peacefully at home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Royster was born on June 25, 1941 in La Russell, to Henry and Dorothy Royster. He graduated from Miller High School in Miller, in 1958. He married Bernetta Martin in 1961 and raised two children together. He provided for his family through his construction company, Royster Construction. The family worked together for many years building custom homes. He attended the Assemblies of God Church.
He is survived by: his wife; son, Brian (Holly) Royster of Carthage; daughter, Teresa (Scott) Matthews of Carthage; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Pete) Marian, Arlene (Huey) Smith, Osa Mae Martin, Cora (Mitchell) Boggs, and Doris (Ray) West; brother, George (Marie) Royster; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Henry and Dorothy Royster; and sisters, Violet Smith, Wynona Gembala, Josephine Sexton, and Dorlene Dunback.
Due to the current circumstances, family services were held April 10, 2020. Interment took place at Park Cemetery in Carthage.
