CHARLES ASA DANIEL

Charles Asa Daniel, age 83, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, with his loving wife of 62 years, Martha Daniel, at his side. He was born May 7, 1940, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of Wayne and Doris (Dorsey) Daniel.
Charles was a 1958 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. Charles was an owner and President of Wayne Daniel Truck, Inc. and other logistics companies which employed hundreds of people in the Mt. Vernon, Missouri area and nationally. He drove regulatory reforms that greatly improved the efficiency of the trucking industry.
On February 11, 1962, he married Martha Frances Robinson in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
Charles is survived by his wife Martha; two sons, Dean Daniel and Kenneth Daniel both of Virginia; two brothers, Wessley Daniel of Mt. Vernon, Missouri and Dan Daniel of Springfield, Missouri.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Doris Daniel and his son, Charles (Scrapper) Daniel, Jr.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, with a memorial service to follow in the funeral home chapel. A private burial was held at the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
