Charles Dennis Marsh

Charles Dennis Marsh, age 79, of Mount Vernon, Missouri, passed away January 12, 2021, due to complications of COVID-19.  Dennis was born September 19, 1941, in Springfield, Missouri.  Dennis was the son of Charley and Dovie (Taylor) Marsh.
Dennis was proud to serve in the United States Navy and was an accomplished radio operator.  From there Dennis being the natural leader, he was he became a supervisor at Paul Mueller’s and later plant manager of Country Flame for over 20 years.
Dennis never knew a stranger; he had a smile and work ethic like no other.  Dennis’s pride and joy were his loving wife of 29 years, children, and grandchildren.  Dennis was a man of faith and that is something that he made sure to pass down to his family.  Dennis was a proud member of Northside Baptist Church of Mount Vernon.  Dennis was a loving, caring, selfless, giving man.  He took care of his family always and that is something that they will cherish forever.  There was no instrument that Dennis couldn’t play.  He had a love for craftsmanship and wood working.  There was nothing that man couldn’t do.
Dennis is survived by his wife Linda, of the home; daughter, Taylor Marsh of Springfield, Missouri; son, Jeff Marsh of La Russell, Missouri; daughters, Brandy Smiles and her husband, Paul of Mount Vernon and Angela Periman of Cassville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jeffery Marsh, Brayden Williams, Sloan Williams, Madison Periman and Quinten Smiles; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Stowe, Phyllis Nipper and Mary Davis (Larry); three brothers, Richard Marsh (Jackie), Larry Marsh and Leroy Marsh (Nancie).
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Dovie Marsh, his son Jonathon “Scott” Marsh and brother Donald Joe Marsh.
A memorial service for Dennis will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
