Click it or Ticket results

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office participated in the national Click It or Ticket mobilization conducted May 20-June 2. During the enforcement effort, deputies issued a total of three tickets including two for suspended licenses and one for uninsured motorists. One drug arrest, one felony arrest and one fugitive was apprehended as a result of the enforcement. In total,150 warnings were issued for various other traffic violations.
“Seat belts are your single best defense in a crash,” stated Sheriff Brad DeLay. “Law enforcement will continue to encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice to buckle up and arrive alive.”
Six out of 10 people killed in 2018 Missouri traffic crashes were unbuckled. Missouri’s seat belt use has shown only modest improvement over the last six years. Missouri has an 87 percent seat belt use, which is well below the national average of 90 percent. Teens and pick-up truck drivers are among those least likely to buckle up at 73 and 71 percent.
