DANIEL “DANNY” RAY DAVIS

Daniel “Danny” Ray Davis, 74, of Mt. Vernon passed away on  Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025. He was born in Springfield on July 25, 1950; the son of Dave and Esther Davis.
He grew up in Nixa and graduated from Nixa High School where he was active with the Agriculture Department and FFA. As a teenager he started working with his father at Davco Welding and, at the age of 18, was drafted and joined the Navy Seabees. He returned from Vietnam and worked with his father and married Beverly Dunn. He was diagnosed with a mental illness at the age of 35, which was a challenge for him and family members. He spent over 25 years at Lakeside Mountain Manor and the last five plus years at the Missouri Veteran’s Home.
He is survived by his sister, Cathy (Jim) Kendrick.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Theodore and Frieda Bastian and Adena and Ethel Davis.
A visitation was held on Jan. 14, at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa. Interment followed at Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Adams Funeral Home in Nixa.
