Danny Joe Conner

Danny Joe Conner, 68, of Cassville, passed away June 25, 2020 at his home. He was born July 29, 1951 in Hohenwald, Tenn. to Austin Commercial and Odell Birdie (Kilpatrick) Conner. In 1982 in Reno, Nev. he was united in marriage to Betty Poppy, who survives.
Conner grew up in California, attended James Monroe Elementary, Thomas Jefferson Junior High School and graduated from Madera High School in Madera, Calif. He then received his associate’s degree in radiation from Citrus College in Baldwin Park, Calif. From, 1971 until 1973 he served in the United States Army as a 4th R Specialist in the Medical Battalion. For several years he was employed at Cal-Trans State Highway Department in Truckee, Calif. In 1983 he moved from California to Cassville and was a sanitation specialist at Schreiber Foods in Monett for several years and also worked as a painter with his brother, Carless. He attended Blessing Heights Worship Center in Cassville, was a member of American Legion in Cassville and the Cassville Golf Course.
 He is survived by: son, Joshua (Melissa) Conner of Purdy; daughter, Sara (Shawn Luker) Conner of Monett; brothers, Carless (Diana) Conner of Golden and Carl (Karen Sue Weaver) Conner of Madera, Calif.; sisters, Cathy Sloan of Chico, Calif. and Elaine (Lee) Tripp Cassville and six grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; son-in-law, Billy Joe Stephens; and brother, Glen David Conner.
Services were held June 29, 2020 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Burial with military honors was at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter. Memorials may be made to Leukemia Lymphoma Foundation in memory of Danny.
