David John Elstrom

David John Elstrom, 71, of Monett, passed away July 19, 2019, at his home in Monett.
Elstrom was born July 28, 1947, in Oakland, Calif., to the late Robert David and Anne (Beck) Elstrom.
Elstrom received his education from Helix High School in San Diego, Calif. and extended his education at Grossmont College and Arizona State University.  He retired as the director of operations and construction of San Diego Gas and Electric Company in San Diego, Calif. after 35 years of service. Upon retirement he, moved with his wife to Monett to enjoy his daughter and her family. He was a member of the OMBAC and the Lion’s Club in San Diego. He enjoyed watching the San Diego Padres, golfing, traveling, cooking, reading, fishing and surfing with his friends and family. His favorite times were going to his grandchildren’s ball games and spending time with his family. In 1989, in San Diego, he married Brenda Brubaker.
Elstrom is survived by: his wife; daughters, Suzette (Greg) Huntress of Monett and Michele (Douglas) Elstrom of San Diego, Calif.; brother, Robert (Carole) Self of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Judi (Thomas) Thurber of Monett and Joan (Harry) Merrick of Branford, Conn.; two grandchildren; one sister-in-law; five nieces, four nephews and a world of friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
