Dennis R. Swofford

Dennis R. Swofford, 65, of Jenkins, passed away Nov. 24, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Swofford was born Nov. 27, 1953 in Aurora, to Randle and Mary Ellen (Fare) Swofford. He was married in 1984 to Wilma (Lee), who survives.
Swofford graduated from Aurora High School. He then earned his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri in Columbia. He was a proud brother of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity. All of his life was spent farming. For over 30 years he was Road Commissioner for the Jenkins Special Road District. He also served on the Cassville FSA Board. He was a long-standing member of the Cassville Golf Club.
He is survived by: daughters, Tiffany (Eric) Bohmke of Cassville and Amy Swofford of Kansas City; sisters, Ilene Washam of Aurora and Linda Wright of Columbia; and four grandsons. Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Dale.
Visitation was held Nov. 27, 2019 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Memorials may be made to a memorial fund in support of his beloved family and grandsons.
