Denny R. Brown

Denny R. Brown, 67, of Monett, passed away Feb. 11, 2020 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield. Brown was born Aug. 3, 1952 in Wheaton, to the late Ira and Ruth (Nelson) Brown. He went to school at Exeter and then furthered his education at Crowder College. Brown served his country honorably in the United States Air Force until Nov. 1, 1973. He then served in the Army Reserve and later retired from the National Guard. For many years, he worked at Wells Aluminum as paint coordinator. He was a member of the American Legion Post #91 and a member of the Monett Church of Christ. In 1980, he married Carol Ann Harrell.
Brown is survived by: his wife, Carol, of the home; son, Joseph Michael (Teresa) Rich, Jr. of Rocky Comfort; daughters, Anita (Ivan) Grant of Monett, Danielle (Brian) Denmark of Neosho and Nicole (Robert) Miller of Valparaiso, Ind.; brothers, Larry (Sue) Brown of Fairview, Roger (Patty) Brown of Exeter and Joe (Jina) Brown of Cassville; sisters, Evelyn (Rayburn) Haddock of Exeter and Kim Navarro, of Ark.; his mother-in-law, Mabel Harrell, of Monett; 13 grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Harold Brown, Sr. and Frankie Brown; and sister, Sandy Bierschwal.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Feb. 15, 2020 at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett. Interment and military honors were held at Concord Cemetery, west of Exeter. Memorials may be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
