DONALD GENE HAUSMAN, SR.

Donald Gene Hausman, Sr., 84, of Springfield, formerly of Mt. Vernon passed away on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was born in Alton, Ill. on Oct. 26, 1940; the son of John and Edith (French) Hausman.
He was a 1958 graduate of Alton High School in Alton, Ill.
He was a manager for the Pennzoil Corporation and enjoyed racing.
On March 22, 1962, he married Sue Smith, in Alton, Ill; they were married for over 62 years.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; one daughter, Melissa (Carson) Hollis of Springfield; two sons, Donald Hausman, Jr. of Verona and Jeff Hausman of Springfield; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, Dec. 28, at Greenlawn South Funeral Home in Springfield. A burial will be held at a later date at the Valhalla Cemetery in Godfrey, Ill.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
