Donald Lee McDowell

Donald Lee McDowell, 87, of Marionville, passed away June 6, 2019, at the Aurora Nursing Center. He was born Sept. 1, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Albert and Goldie (Putman) McDowell.
McDowell was a United States Army veteran and was a custodian with Bass Pro Shops in Springfield. In 1979, he married Nancy Underwood in Springfield.
McDowell is survived by: his wife of 39 years; daughters, Geraldine (Mike) King of West Monroe, La., Beverly Small of Springfield and Michelle (Daniel) Mortensen of Marionville; sons, Lee McDowell of Republic and Mike (Erin) Nelson and of Nixa; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Darlene McDowell; and brother, Buddy McDowell.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Williams Funeral Home in Marionville, will be held at 3 p.m. June 12, 2019, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.Online condolences may be shared at www.WilliamsFuneralHomeMo.com.
