Donald Robert Alksne

Donald Robert Alksne, 69, of Pierce City passed away Sept. 26 at his home. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. Jan. 3, 1951; the son of the late Edwin and Jean (Church) Alksne. Alksne attended college at Texas A&M. He worked for the Denver Post newspaper as a mechanic for many years.
Surviving are the following: daughter, Gayle (Gary) Durm of Pierce City; brothers, Edward Alksne of Houston, Texas, and Richard Alksne of Ft. Worth, Texas; sisters, Mary Lathrop of Austin, Texas, Elizabeth Herren of Houston, Texas, and Angela Lyles of Friendswood, Texas. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Gail and his parents.
He was cremated at his request and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
