Donna Sue Collier

Donna Sue Collier, age 74, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.  She was born February 29, 1944, in Springfield, the daughter of Albert Junior and Ila Mae (Yount) Shelton.
Donna was a 1962 graduate of Central High School in Springfield and worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
On March 17, 1963, she married Jerald Wayne Collier, in Springfield, Missouri.
Donna is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerald; daughter, Christie Strohm and son, Tom Collier and his wife, Summer all of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Cheryl Robinson of Springfield; one brother, Chris Shelton and his wife, Sheila, of Mt. Vernon; three grandsons, Cole Collier and Ryan and Ben Strohm, all of Mt. Vernon.
Her parents, Albert and Ila, and son, Jeff Collier, preceded her in death.  
A graveside service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon,was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Summit Cemetery, northeast of Mt. Vernon.  Visitation was held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, in the funeral home chapel.
Memorial donations may be made payable to the Harmony House in Springfield or the Lawrence County Democratic Party in care of the funeral home.
