Doris June Wells

Doris June Wells, 75, of Mesa, Ariz. formerly of Marionville, passed away Oct. 15, 2018, at her home. She was born June 12, 1943, on the family farm south of Marionville to the late H.V. “Pete” and Loretta Dell (Buchanan) Wells.
Wells was a 1961 graduate of Marionville High School and was employed as a secretary for the McClintock High School in Phoenix, Ariz. She married Tony Bovenkerk a Pan Am pilot in 1968; he preceded her in death. One of her greatest joys in life was playing base for the Corridors for 14 years.
Wells is survived by: daughter, Sonja Bovenkerk, of New Orleans, La.; sister, Lois (Joe) Gardner of Aurora; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Betty Etheridge.
