Douglas Leon Denayer

Douglas Leon Denayer, 65, of Carthage, passed away Feb. 9, 2019, at his home. He was born May 25, 1953, in Carthage, to Virgil and Merna Louise (Mayfield) Denayer Sr.
Denayer was a 1971 graduate of Carthage High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a forklift operator for Leggitt and Platt in Carthage. In 1977, he married Rose Etta Greenway in Aurora; she preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 2019.
Denayer is survived by: daughter, Amy Denayer of Carthage; stepdaughter, Trisha Riddle of Joplin; stepsons, Glen (Cheryl) Potter of Aurora, Victor (Shelby) Potter of Joplin and Robert (Wanda) Potter of Webb City; five sisters; one brother; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Denayer was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; stepdaughter, Peggy Potter and one grandson.
A visitation was held Feb. 25, 2019, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with a graveside that followed at the Spring River Cemetery in Verona. Online condolences may be shared at www.CraftonCantrellFuneralHome.com.
