Eileene Harris

Eileene Harris, 83, of Purdy, passed away Nov. 12, 2019.She was born Feb. 22, 1936 in Purdy, to the late Herman and Fontella (Wisely) Goetz. She graduated from Purdy High School in 1954. In 1954 she married Leroy Harris. They shared over 55 wonderful years together before his passing in 2009.
She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Purdy and had worked for almost 20 years as a secretary for Alltel. In 1985, she began working as secretary for the City of Monett, retiring in 1998.
She is survived by: daughters, Debbie (Mike) Fly, Joyce (Steve) Roden and Pam (Darryl) Dixon all of Purdy; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Mike (Connie) Goetz of Purdy; sisters, her twin, Barbara Elaine Chastain, of Kansas City and Mickie Henderson, of Purdy; as well as a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; son, Richard Harris; and brothers, Ricky Goetz and Danny “Sonny” Goetz.
Graveside services were held Nov. 18, 2019 at Purdy Cemetery. Memorials have been requested to the First Free Will Baptist Church in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
