Ellwyn Lyle Worley

Ellwyn Lyle Worley, Sr., 94, of Springfield, passed away at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Oct. 7, 2018.
Worley was born Dec. 3, 1923, in Grenolo, Elk, Kan. to Charles and Minnie Christina Erika Englund Worley. He married Mardella “Mardi” Walker, in 1942, in Olathe, Johnson, Kan. She passed away in 1980. He married Christine McCool in 1985, in Mississippi, she passed away in 2016. He was drafted in 1943, and was a Tech IV in Germany, where he was wounded. After his discharge he started in the office of Patton Creamery, which became Tastemark and then became Foremost Dairies, where he became Comptroller.
He was president of NOMA, National Office Managers Association and was a member of Park Crest Baptist Church in Springfield.
He is survived by: son, E. Lyle (Marsha Worley) Jr.;, six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded by: his parents; both wives; daughter, Janan (“Woody”) Woodyard; son, Roger Reid Worley; one grandson, Roger Reid Worley II; three sisters and five brothers.
Memorials will be made to the Missouri Veterans Home and or Intrepid Hospice. Visitation was held Oct. 11, 2018, from 6–8 p.m. at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel 5234 W. State Highway EE Springfield, 65802. Funeral services were held Oct. 12, 2018, at the funeral home burial followed with full military honors in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
