Erna Emma Schoen

Erna Emma Schoen, 95, of Freistatt, passed away Nov.17, 2018. She was born at home in Freistatt, March 11, 1923, Schoen was the oldest of three children born to Walter and Louise (Lampe) Brockschmidt.
She married Martin Schoen in 1943. She spent her adult life working with him on the family farm as well as baking and gardening. After retiring from the dairy, she spent her days making quilts and enjoying her family.
Schoen is survived by: children, Dale (Carol) Schoen, Dwayne (Ellen) Schoen, Louanna (Dale) Chapman and Dian (Allen) Luffman; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Schoen was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years;  her parents; daughter, Linda Wiehe; son, Kelvin Schoen; and granddaughter Shelly Wiehe; siblings Vernon Brockschmidt and Freda Fellwock.
Services were held Nov. 20, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt. Burial took place in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School in care of the funeral home or at the church. Arrangements are under the care of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
