Frances “Fran” Nicoll
Frances “Fran” Nicoll, 85, of Monett, formerly of Cassville, passed away May 11, 2020 at Cox-Monett Hospital in Monett.
She was born Sept. 12, 1934 in Julesburg, Colo. to Sheldon and Beulah (Harris) Shields. In 1954 she was married to Don Liddle who passed away in 1985. To this union two daughters were born, Susan and Sharon. In 1997 she married Glen Dale Nicoll, who preceded her in death in 2015.
Nicoll grew up and received her education in Julesburg, Colorado, where she graduated from high school and lived there 50 years. In 1985 she moved to Cassville, remaining there until a few years ago to reside in Monett. While in Cassville she had been a legal secretary and was a bookkeeper in the Barry County Collector’s office. She was a member of First Christian Church in Cassville. Some of her favorite pastimes were playing golf, traveling and reading.
Surviving are: daughters, Susan (Paul) Hailicka of Grand Island, Neb. and Sharon Blackketter of Las Vegas, Nev.; one grandson; two nieces; and one nephew. Also preceding her in death were her parents and brothers, Gene, Neil and Harl Shields.
Graveside services were held May 13, 2020 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
