Frostbite 5K beat feet on the square

Despite the ominous name, this year's Frostbite 5K, held on the Mt. Vernon square Saturday, was run in reasonably mild winter weather. The annual fundraising event drew more than 60 participants, and raised $1,400 to benefit the American Cancer Society. The next cancer-fighting cause will be Relay for Life, set for 6-10 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, which will also return to the square.
