GERALD “JERRY” DEAN MORGAN

Gerald “Jerry” Dean Morgan, 65, of Freistatt passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025. He was born in Emporia, Kan. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1959; the son of Doris (Melcher) and Robert Dean Morgan, Sr.
He was a 1977 graduate of San Juan Capistrano High School in San Clemente, Calif. He obtained a degree in small engine repair from Crowder College and a degree in electrical engineering from Electronics Institute in Kansas City. He worked various jobs over the years. He was on the tie gang for Frisco Railroad, worked maintenance at Georges, and installed windows for EFCO. He enjoyed playing the bass guitar in a rock band, “Whiplash”; they often played at a bar in Rescue.
He is survived by his daughter, Katherine Marie Morgan of Eagle Rock; three grandchildren; two brothers,  Robert Morgan, Jr. of Monett and David Morgan of Freistatt; and a sister, Lynda Howard of Freistatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Edward Dean Morgan.
He was cremated at his own request and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
