Gloria Faye Carpenter

Gloria Faye Carpenter, 82, of Monett, passed away March 14, 2019, while at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. She was born June 12, 1936 in Monett, to Roy Bell and Etta Anna (Scott) Nichols.
Carpenter was a homemaker and enjoyed being creative. She displayed her many talents with a variety of artistic creations. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandma and aunt. She was always ready to give a smile and a hug to anyone she met. She worked for several years in the elementary school cafeteria and as a cook for the Barry County Youth Camp. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. In 1953, she married Cyrus Fred Carpenter in Monett, he preceded her in death in 2006. To this union, four children were born.
Carpenter is survived by: daughters, Raena Carpenter, Lisa Crawford and Julie Carpenter all of Monett; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Cyrus; son, Reggie Carpenter;  brothers, Bob Nichols and Jack Nichols; sisters, Christine DePriest and Mary Terrell.
Graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. March 18, 2019, at Calton Cemetery, in Monett. Arrangements were entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, in Monett.
