Gloria Jean Murphy

Gloria Jean Murphy, 78, of Marionville, passed away Feb. 7, 2019, at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was born July 16, 1940, in Logan, to Byron and Grace (Burton) Allhands.
She worked for Vaisey Bristol Shoe Factory in Marionville and was devoted to her family. In 1955 she married Edward Murphy; he preceded her in death in 1994.
Murphy is survived by: sons, Dennis Murphy of Marionville, Edward Murphy of Aurora, Terry Murphy of Marionville and Brian (Lisa) Sisco of Jenkins; brother, Bud (Linda) Allhands of Marionville; sisters, Barbara (Bob) Brauch of Billings, and Rosemary (Clyde) Melton of Springfield; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of family. Murphy was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Gayla Garoutte; one grandson; and brother, Byron Allhands.
A funeral service was held Feb. 11, 2019, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with burial that followed at the Marionville IOOF Cemetery.
