Harold Wallace Schultze

Harold Wallace Schultze, 93, of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Joplin, passed away Dec. 29, 2018, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born Sept. 21, 1925, in Monroe, La., to Robert and Genevieve (Scoby) Schultze.
Schultze was a United States Coast Guard veteran and was a manager for Prudential Insurance. After retiring from Prudential he was a greeter for Walmart in Lubbock, Texas. He was a member of the Royal Heights Baptist Church in Joplin and he loved Alabama Crimson Tide Football. In 1946 he married Mildred Priestley in Ensley, Ala. She preceded him in 2009.
Schultze is survived by: sons, Scott Schultze and Buddy Samuels, both of Joplin; daughter, Cathy (Gary) Thompson of Discovery Bay, Calif.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; son, Mark Schultze; brother, Danny Samek; and a great-grandson.
A memorial graveside service, under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery in Springfield. Online condolences may be shared at www.FossettMosherFuneralHome.com.
