Harry Lee Price

Harry Lee Price, age 80, of South Greenfield, Missouri, passed away at 1:39 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.  He was born May 15, 1939, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of Harry and Elinore (Howerton) Price.
Harry was a foreman for the Monsanto Chemical Company in Sauget, Illinois and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Everton, Missouri.  Harry loved woodworking, raising cattle, horseback riding and especially playing his banjo.  He had the great honor of picking with lots of friends, family and great musicians.  He loved playing bluegrass gospel music for the Lord.
On December 3,1994, he married Carolyn Mills, in Miller, Missouri.
Harry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn; five children, Marilyn Brandes of O’Fallon, Illinois, Debra Dufresne and her husband, Richard, of Belleville, Illinois, Philip Price and his wife, Diane, of Chester, Illinois, Sherry Coleman and her husband, Dillard, of Warrenton, Missouri and Bruce Price of Belleville, Illinois, two sisters, Mary Louise Jones of Salem, Illinois and Janet Koehne of Caseyville, Illinois; three brothers, Russell Price and his wife, Jeannie, of Mason, Illinois, Carl Price and his wife, Donna, and Randy Price, all of Marine, Illinois; father-in-law, John Mills of Greenfield, Missouri; brother-in-law, Homer Glenn Ellis and his wife, Laura, of Aurora, Missouri; four sisters-in-law, Hazel, Cathy, Diana and Kathy; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elinore, five brothers, Fred, Charles, James, Harold and Clarence Price and mother-in-law, Genevieve Mills.
A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.  Burial followed at the Ash Grove Cemetery.  Visitation was held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, in the funeral home chapel.
