Helen “Pat” Lagers

Helen “Pat” (Fenix) Lagers, 91, of Joplin, formerly of Aurora, passed away May 18, 2020 at Mercy Hospital Joplin. Lagers, daughter of the late Lester and Dorothy (Sloan) Shrock, was born on March 17, 1929 in Coffeyville, Kan.
She was owner and nursing home administrator of Hope Manor. In 2007, she was married to Robert Lagers in Miami, Okla. She was a member of the Dogwood Trail Blazers, the Walking Club, having proudly walked through all 50 states, and an active member of the Unity Church of Joplin.
Survivors include: her husband of Joplin; sons, John Pliler, of Joplin and Dale Pliler, of Marlo, Okla.; daughter, Sharlyn Harris, of Fla.; brother, John Shrock, of Tyro, Kan.; sister, Mary Jane Welsh, of Calif.; 33 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Steve and Darrell Pliler.
Memorials were held May 22, 2020 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin with visitation to follow. Memorials may be made to the Unity Church of Joplin and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
