Henry Melvin Rampy

Henry Melvin Rampy, 87, of Springfield passed away Jan. 25, 2021, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon.  He was born April 5, 1933, in Waco, Texas, the son of Carl and Cleopatra (Richard) Rampy.
He was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean war and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.  He was the owner/operator of H&M Auto Parts in Amarillo, Texas and was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Springfield where he was a very active member of his Sunday school class.
He is survived by his son, Mark (Marshelle) Rampy of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughters, Missy (J.C.) Serra of Aguilar, Colo., and Brittany (Tim) Douglass of Buckeye, Ariz. and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Rampy and sister, Frances Bryan.
A graveside service under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon will be held at a later date at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
Memorials may be made payable to the Pregnancy Care Center, in Springfield, in care of the funeral home.
