Imogene Blades

Imogene Blades, 98, of Billings, passed away Aug. 4, 2019, surrounded by her children. She was born July 20, 1921, in Mt. Vernon, to Clarence and Lizzie Rodgers.
She was a wonderful Christian mother, who taught her children at an early age, to follow the Lord Jesus. She delighted in her family, especially, the great-grandchildren. She loved the color of pink, having her hair done, cooking delicious meals for her family and shopping. Blades was married to Wayne L. Blades in 1942. They celebrated 69 years of marriage before he passed away in 2011.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon (Lloyd) Evans, of Kimberling City and Larry Blades of Springfield; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Opal Brashers, Dorothy Hubbard, Hazel Wever; and brothers, William and Floyd Rodgers.
Services were held Aug. 9, 2019 at Meadors Funeral Home in Republic. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in Republic, Hospice Compassus, or The Alzheimer’s Association. Friends and family may leave online condolences at www.meadorsfuneralhome.com.
