Irine Fay Hight

Irine Fay Hight, 64, of Joplin, passed away March 5, 2019, at Mercy Hospital after an illness. Hight was born Jan. 7, 1955, in Eureka, Calif. to the late Harold Fadling and Mable Morris Fadling.
She worked as a bartender for most of her working life. She and her late husband, Carl ‘Cotton’ Hight, owned and operated Cotton and Irine’s Lounge in Joplin for 10 years. She had also worked at the former Dixie Lee’s Bar, The Western and Silverado’s. Irine was a member of the Ladies of the Elk’s and volunteered at the Joplin Cerebral Palsy Center for several years.
Survivors include: sons, Paul (Jill) Slankard of Seneca and David Slankard of Joplin; step-children, Ron (Melanie) Hight of Joplin, Lanny (Tammy) Hight of Neosho, Cynthia (David) Lea of Monett; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: Evelyn, Cindy, Sid, Norma, Tina, Debbie, Alfred, Goldie; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Norman, Dewey and Earl.
Private family memorial services are being planned for a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
