JACK DEAN REED

Jack Dean Reed, 73, of Stotts City, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3. He was born in Aurora on Sunday, Jan. 30, 1949; son of Marvin Virgil and Opal (Bennage) Reed.
He was a 1967 graduate of Aurora High School where he played in the band. After graduating he went into the Army where he served his country for several years.
He married Janet Gale Twitty on Jan. 1, 1971, at Verona Baptist Church.
He is survived by: one son, Ross Reed of Verona; two daughters, Carrie Reed and Tammy Branham of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Virgil (Diane) Reed of Lee Summit; a mother-in-law, Mary Twitty of Aurora; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by  his parents; wife, Janet Reed; father-in-law, Bill Twitty; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Twitty.
The family will receive friends at Verona First Baptist Church in Verona, on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m..
Services will be at Verona First Baptist Church in Verona, on Friday, Nov. 11, beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Larry Herndon officiating.  Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Spring River Cemetery in Verona. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
