JAMES “JIM” LEWIS BERTALOTTO

James “Jim” Lewis Bertalotto, Jr., 79, of Springdale, Ark. passed away on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at Regency Hospital in Springdale, Ark. He was born in Monett on Friday, Dec. 14, 1945; the son of Lewis Charles and Mae Mary (Conley) Bertalotto.
He was a 1962 graduate of Pierce City High School. He proudly served in the US Army Air Cav. (1966-1969) in the Vietnam War where he was a Huey crew chief/mechanic and door gunner for two tours. He was discharged from the Army in May 1969.
He met his wife, Linda Smith, shortly after discharge and they were married in Chula Vista, Calif. on Friday, Sept. 12, 1969. They spent 55 years together.
He was a meat cutter for various places and ended his career as the owner/operator of Jim’s Butcher Shoppe in Miami, Okla. They worked together at the Shoppe for over 20 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 2952 in Springdale, Ark. He was able to participate in an Honor Flight in 2022 with his son, Dan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of Springdale, Ark.; two children, Andrea (Jeff) Dudley of Bixby, Okla. and Daniel (Mandy) Bertalotto of Fayetteville, Ark.; five grandchildren; 10 siblings: Barbara (Ken) Ellis,  Marjorie (Ben) Layton, Mary Lou (Harold) Lombard, Cindy (John) Witt and Jeannie (Ralph) Schmidt all of Pierce City, Janice (Leo) Schmidt and Ron Bertalotto of Monett, Beverly (Norman) Ozbun of Verona, Geraldine (Don) Brattin of Aurora and Linda Gail Bertalotto of Joplin; 21 nephews; 18 nieces; 17 great-nephews; 21 great-nieces; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, David Michael Bertalotto.
Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 8, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City with Father Matt Rehrauer officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City. 
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
