JAMES C. DEATON

James C. Deaton, 81, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at his home in Wentworth. He was born in Texola, Okla. on Thursday, Feb. 6, 1941; son of Clark and Bonnie (Beesinger) Deaton.
He married Lyna Guenther on June 02, 1963, in Fredericksburg, Iowa.  He spent 4 years in the US Navy where he served his country. He was an active member of the Chapel of Grace Church in Monett where he drove the bus to pick up kids on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.
He is survived by his wife, Lyna; a son, Gardy Deaton of Wentworth; a daughter, Audra (Daniel) Lindner of Wentworth; a brother, Bennie Deaton of Southwestern, Kan.; three precious grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Deborah Deaton; a great-grandchild, Kaden Freeman-Abramovitz; a brother, Jack Deaton; and two sisters, Ida Morris and Nancy Beckett.
Visitation we held at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City on Sunday, Jan. 22. Funeral Services were held at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City on Monday, Jan. 23 with Pastor Jimmie Finch officiating.  Burial followed at Cook Family cemetery in Wentworth.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pierce City Senior Citizen Center or to Integrity Hospice of Monett. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
