JANICE FAYE FLEHMER

Janice Faye Flehmer, 73, passed away on January 12, 2025, at Cox Medical Center with her husband and children by her side. Born on February 3, 1951, to Bud and Mildred Carder, Janice grew up in Pierce City and graduated from Pierce City High School in 1969.
On January 12, 1974, she married Gary Flehmer, and their union was blessed with three children and five grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Janice wore many hats: “Ms. Carder,” the kind-hearted kindergarten teacher’s aide; the creative force behind the craft department at Modern Variety; and the talented seamstress who meticulously crafted countless wedding and prom dresses. Yet, above all, her greatest pride and joy were her roles as “Mom” and “Nana.” Janice’s unwavering love and boundless devotion to her children and grandchildren were the cornerstone of her life. She found great joy in her family, always cherishing their achievements and celebrating every special moment together.
Though her absence leaves an un-fillable void, she will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Janice is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Gary Flehmer; her son, Chadd Flehmer of Miller, Missouri; her daughter, Andrea Hendrickson (Brian) of Celina, Texas; and her daughter, Michelle Hilburn (Justin) of Cassville, Missouri. She leaves behind five treasured grandchildren: Noah and Emily Hendrickson, and Jackson, Jamison, and Jayson Hilburn. She is also survived by her brother, David Carder, of Springfield, Missouri, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Mildred Carder, and her brother, Gary Carder.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City, Missouri. At Janice’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Care to Learn - Purdy, c/o Purdy R-2 Schools, 201 S. Gabby Gibbons, Purdy, MO 65734 in memory of Janice.
