Jeff McCaffrey

Jeff McCaffrey, 70, of Monett, formerly of Cape Fair, passed away Feb. 1, 2020 at his residence in Monett. McCaffrey was born Dec. 23, 1949, in Philadelphia, Penn., son of the late Joseph A. and Mary (Lynch) McCaffrey.
He graduated from Monett High School with the class of 1967. He worked for Jumping-Jacks and Grande Tire before becoming co-owner of Grande Tire with his brothers, Jerry and Joel. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. In 1995, he married Diana (Hackathorn) Burk in Las Vegas, Nev.
Survivors include: wife, Diana, of the home; son, Jeremiah (Tricia) McCaffrey of St. Louis; daughters, Jennifer (Dustin) Arnall of Hartville and Justine McCaffrey, of Springfield; step-sons, Chad (Deborah) Burk of Springfield and Chase Burk, of Monett; one step-daughter, Chasity (Steve) Denney of Monett; brothers, Joe McCaffrey, of Hokenssin, Del., Jay (Linda) McCaffrey of Pierce City and Joel (Carolyn) McCaffrey of Monett; sisters, Joyce Tinklepaugh, of Monett and Jean (Ken) Heinly of Mesquite, Nev.; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Dorathy Hackathorn; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Joan Gavin; and brothers, Jack McCaffrey, Jerry McCaffrey and Jim McCaffrey.
Funeral Mass was held Feb. 5, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pierce City. Interment followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Monett. Visitation was at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A Celebration of Life was held at the Monett V.F.W. Post #4207 at Noon Feb. 5, following the committal service. All are invited to attend. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home.
